Need Help with Rotting Tubers

Okay. So I was an idiot and planted too close together in one of my dahlia beds. I kept getting stem rots in one localized area of the bed so I've cut off several stems already. The poor thing kept trying to grow new shoots all this time. This morning I found another stem rotting so I finally pulled the entire cluster out of the ground. There were several tubers attached together and some had rotted while others were okay. All the tubers in the bed are pretty inexpensive except for one. I'm worried about what ever it is in the soil in that area affecting that prized tuber of mine. So are there any precautions I should take to protect the rest of the plants in that bed???? Any suggestions would help! Thanks in advance!
