| Wondering if someone could help me. I am new to dahlias this year and have several larger types planted in pots on my deck. When I first bought them, the blooms were large and vibrant colored. Lately the new blooms look dingy and have brown rumpled edges. Some of them wont open all of the way. I inspected the flowers and have seen very small, brownish insectes crawling around. Does this sound like thrips? How do I get rid of them? |

| there are any number of insecticides to treat for thrips. Sevin a good start or Safer Soap or horticultural oil. You might want to try systemic granules as a follow up.Steve in Baltimore County |
