That is the sweetest thing. Is that a Collarette? Is that even the right word? My only problem with this forum is that my budget and space won't allow me to grow all the wonderful things you guys are all posting pictures of! I'm going to have to live vicariously through everyone's pictures.

My Hulin's Carnival is going to give me one flower this week...can't wait. Here's what Cornell did for me:

I cut it right after that, and it's in water for the second day. Looks a little unhappy-the outer petals are kind of curling up at the ends. How do you keep them nice after cutting?

I think you'll get more responses if you post a message asking "Best way to keep cut Dahlias?"

I don't, mine are meant to be on their bush. So, sorry, no advice...;-]

Yes dahlia newbie it is a collarette. If you are refering to cornel remember when it is full open it looks like a ball.

vikingcraftsman, that is a gorgeous dahia. Well done.

ahlia newbie, you will find that the dahlias look nice for a few days, but that is about the limit. Sad, but true.
