Mulch and Dahlias

It is a good idea to mulch all round the Dahlias ..correct ? I've been diligent about weeds so there are none. Put some mulch bark down today. My plants are bushy but no buds yet. Like the idea of tomatoe spikes.

Thanks to all for your wonderful suggestions and advice.

I hope with the mulch that you don't get any mould from it. It should be okay, but it sometimes happens. Just keep an eye open. Maybe trim off the bottom leaves ( up to 4 inches ).
