Bodacious is one of my favorites. I also had the Dutch Garden problem. The plant is not even two ft. tall and I know the plant. You should see big buds on your plant soon. They have always been my biggest flower. Ms. Eileen from DG is doing nothing and its been in awhile. Very hot summer and no rain.

Following is the procedure that we do, if our plants are getting big with a healthy growth and no or less flowering:

1) Till the space around the roots to 4 inches depth

2) Don't water the plant until it start showing wilting, water it thoroughly after it

3) Let the soil to dry and repeat the procedure again

4) Start watering normally after the second tilling

We do it for our Jasmines, Hibiscuses, Tomatoes, Chrysanthemums etc

Then watch it bloom!
Dahlias are very heavy feeders and MG will do it for you!
Then, take a pic of the bloom and post it back here please so I can see the flower of your dahlia.

If you have a 5 ft plant then miracle-gro is not the best food for you - you want something low in nitrogen, a bloom booster fertilizer, something closer to 0-10-10 should help.

Fish emulsion is a great organic fertilizer - every 2 weeks. I do it the night before my sprinkler system goes off as it is somewhat stinky. But works great (tuberous begonias love it too)

It appears like I'm not even going to get a bud. Still nothing, just nice lush foliage up top. I guess I'll try to overwinter it one more time and fertilize the heck out of it next year...thanks for the help. I might have some fish emulsion; I'll give it a dose and see what happens.
