| For those who must move their plants during the growing season or lose them: I had to dig up 10 "Bishop of Llandaff" just as they were ready to bloom because of contractor work. I didn't have a lot of time to condition them. I just soaked them and sprayed them with "Cloud Cover". Each was unceremoniously dug out with a shovel full of soil, and plopped in 5 gal pots. Six weeks later, they're doing beautifully, still in the plastic pots waiting for their new spot (the yard is still a construction project). We've had a very cool summer here in the CA coast; I think that helped. Just my experience. YMMV. |
