Before you plant drench the soil with Bayer all-in-one. Then as you plant soak each hole with same material. Sevin is good for thrips but I have used 1 tsp orthene + 1 tbsp Bayer Multiple insect control per gal water. Add little Ivory liquid. Get with your local extension agent for continuing program.
