| I have a question, how do I get Dahlia seed? I have a plant that is producing a variagated white/maroon flower[marbled] and a solid maroon flower at the same time, how can I reproduce this? I just planted it and another I bought from a nursery this spring, the other is solid maroon, both were supposed to be marbled.
I know. I know, that's two questions but I really want to know both, thanks in advance, see my photo. PL |

| you can't reproduce it from seed. Dahlias don't come true to the parent except from tubers. The striped dahlia was varigated & the solid was it reverting to a former parent. It is considered a major flaw in the show dahlia world but a major plus in the I just want to grow cool dahlias world! |

| Thanks Plantlady; I consider it major cool, I don't care if it reverted I just love the idea that I bought one color and got two. PL |

| PL, often I see my variegated dahlias either revert to solid, or they may have a section of solid color with the rest variegated. Check out Prince Valiant in my photo album... http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2103341635 Christine |
