I love the way the petals sweep back. Does that make it a steller? Cheers, Russ

Does that make it a steller? Russ you will have to explain. I don't know what you are talking about. Sorry
RE: Vassio Meggos

Steller is a classification I found on Swan Island's site, and is what one of my favorites, Raspberry Punch, is. Unfortunately mine hasn't bloomed yet otherwise I'd post my own pic. Cheers, Russ

Thanks Russ, I went back an looked at my Swan Island catalog. Yes I guess this dahlia is a steller informal decrative. I am planting up cuttings to grow under lights over the winter.

Vassio Meggos is classed an Informal Decorative. Raspberry Punch is classed as a Formal Decorative. There's no such thing as a stellar informal decorative. Stellar is a completely different form- the petals on stellars are more seperate, thinner & more pointed. If Swan is classing these as stellars they aren't correct. |

No plant lady it was me trying to fit the stellar into the thing. If you read there catalog they list the classifacations on the cover.

A very good picture Vikingcraftsman. Easy to see that Vassio Meggos is a sport of the famous Spartacus.
