| It is often over 90 here in the afternoon and the foliage of my large dahlia wilts. It is app. 4' tall and is growing in a half wine barrel. I usually give the foliage and surrounding deck a misting with the hose and it revives. Is there any reason why I shouldn't mist it? Am I inviting mildew?
Thanks. |

| Keep misting them in the heat of the afternoon. I do that with mine too. It's normal for the leaves to wilt in the heat. Powdery mildew is only a problem if you mist too late in the day and the water on the leaves doesn't evaporate and stays on the leaves. |
