yellow leaves

I have given my dahlias that have the yellowing leaves the Ironite. It doesn't see, to help. I am in zone 5 and cannot believe the other members who have the same problem that I have this year. Very lanky plants with little bloom. If I hadn't have had amazing dahlias last year, I would give up. Some of the bushy ones are just putting out more leaves?

If my leaves are getting yellow, I wonder about drainage or too much water. If these are okay, then I give them epsom salts ( a handful : 2 gallons of water ). They will perk up quickly with that.

When fertilizing I use Miracle grow. They seem to like it here in Canada.

Oh, BTW, stop fertilizing at least a month before frost. They need to hardy up.

Of interesting note, the weather forecast in my area is forecasting 4C degrees on Saturday and Sunday night. We may be getting frost here soon.
