 o
Kenora WOW comments?

I need a dazzling hot pink dahlia for my bright pink section. I read on an earlier forum post that Kenora Wow is indeed BRIGHT PINK and an eye-catcher, but that it quickly fades IN THE SUN.

I thought that would make it a perfect fit for our foggy summers (no worries about TOO MUCH sunshine here!) but I wonder of anyone else has this dahlia and what their comments might be. If it fades as a general rule under any conditions, I might pass on it (as I already fell for that with Matchmaker, where it shows pink for about 4 days and then morphs into almost pure white for weeks. I don't need another one that starts pink and ends up something else, even though MM is a beauty - at least in the beginning).

Any advice? (If you are going to recommend anything else, it needs to be 4-5 ft tall). I'm also looking at Sugarlips as another one for that section.

RE: Kenora WOW comments?

Kenora Wow was definitely no wow here. Smallish flowers, stunted growth. Tried it two years. Red and yellowish here. Hard to believe the pictures of it from my experience, but that is just one experience. Maybe I just had bad tubers, but as I recall, the tuber never eyed up initially and then the grower sent another puny tuber (suggests that he too didn't get robust growth). The second year, I had larger tubers from the year before, but they never did anything.
