I am amazed that my Dahlias still look so good considering it has been cold with about 45 degrees at night and about 55 in the daytime. Plus we have had constant hard downpouring rain for over a week with lots of wind. I will cut them off on Halloween day and dig them up 2 weeks after that. Here they are....My Pride and Joy!

Your pictures are beautiful! They also make me long for spring already so I can plant some new tubers!

Your flowers are lovely and closed centers with temps that low. Where do you live in Zone 8 to be having temps like that? We have had one night in the 40's so far this fall and no rain until today here in Atlanta.

I live in the rain forrest about 60 miles east of Vancouver, B.C. Canada. We get loads of rain here with a little sun thrown in. I like to let my dahlias open before I cut them, but when I hear that a bad storm is coming I cut as many as I can before the rain and wind break them. I feel sad that the season is coming to a close. But I will be ready to plant again in April! I'm glad you like my pictures.

Mingus Alex, these are a sight for sore eyes about now! Thanks for posting your lovelies. You have a nice collection and when I saw your photo of "Mingus Alex" I knew why you chose that screen name- really a wonderful bloom.
