Replanting tuber next year

This is our first year growing dahlias. My husband read somewhere on line that when we replant the tuber next year that the plant would produce a different type of bloom. Is this correct or will it be the same plant that we had this year. I hope not because the ones we had this year were gorgeous, we had 3 different plants.

Yes they will be the same as this year only bigger, more prolific and just outstanding.

Tuber=clone. Seed=hybrid-- so your beautiful dahlias will be back next year the same as this year. It's when people let the blooms go to seed & then plant the seed that they don't look anything like the parent-- usually worse!
