I have been cutting up the dahlias and my fingers! Next year I,m getting the bonsia pruners like someone said in another post. One finger I cut almost to the bone and I sliced my thumb nail and many other little nicks, You would think I watch it after the first slice......

I did get the pruners and managed to jab the sharp pointed end right into the side of my finger and did a pretty good job of it with a pretty deep jagged cut that still hurts and its been almost 2 weeks since it did it! I was cutting up the last one and must have been in a big hurry...All I can say is OUCH! Linda

Oh, be careful, you guys! I have fairly good luck using regular pruners. Then, if I need to, I go back in with a utility knife. It's those first cuts that are the most difficult because of the force needed and the most dangerous. Gail

Next year I will be a lot more careful. I also used a knife on some parts and even a hammer and screwdriver to bust apart a couple of giant clumps. Linda
