| Ok I just dug up my dahlias and have rinsed them off. While I was digging them up I noticed that some of them had this kinda thinsk patch of something growing on the tuber clumb itself. It was in the ground with the dahlias it kinda looks like a clumb of sprouts of some kind does anyone know what it could be and would it be harmul to my dahlias. I plan on cutting it off before stoage. Thanks

| Paula, Check out the article at this link below and see if it sounds like what you found. If it's leafy gall, it sounds like you will want to get rid of the plant and tubers to prevent it from spreading. The photos aren't that hot, and in black and white, but it sounds like a possibility for what you found. |
Here is a link that might be useful: pdf link

| So should I just throw away the affected tubars? Thanks |
|
| I would toss those affected, yes. I had several tubers/plants that I suspect were infected with something from their very sprouting this season. They are all going to be garbage as I don't want whatever it is to spread. |

| O no, I had that too! My largest clump I dug up had that on it..I left the clumps sit to dry then that stuff just rubbed right off..Should I still chuck mine? I wouldn't be heart broken, it was only one clump..but I hate to throw stuff away when it comes to plants...Bad enough I feel like a murderer cutting them down, lol. |
