Too late?

My dahlias didn't turn black and die because the weather was so warm, so they are still in the soil. Then our weather in the Philly area (and I think most of the Eastern half of the country) turned bitter cold. Is it too late to dig them up when (hopefully) the weather turns a little warmer?
