| Most gardeners are thinking about gardening during the Winter months when little outside work can be done. Here are some newer varieties to consider growing next year:
Chimacum Davi miniature ball in pink(really pink with a bit of white). This one was covered with perfectly shaped flowers all season. Excellent stems for cutting. Snoho Storm A incurved cactus white. If you like incurved cactus, this one is for you. The first flush of flowers can be large at about 8-9 inches in diameter but what I like is that it blooms and blooms and blooms some more. The later blooms are smaller but that makes them perfect for a bouquet. Gitt's Crazy Stellar dark blend of purple on the back of the petals and orangy bronze on the face of the petals. This is a new one from Swan Island and really looked good at their gardens this year. Bride to Be Waterlily white Probably the best cut flower that you can buy. People love it for weddings. Swan Island sells this one and if you want a white cut flower for weddings, this is the best. |

| I am already dreaming of spring...Got my first seed catalog in the mail yesterday! And winter hasn't even really begun here. Still waiting for the big snow storm. I have been eyeing Gitt's Crazy...that one is really stunning and Snoho Storm too. Think I will have to wait for the price on Gitt's Crazy to go down a bit before I buy that one. It is fun to look at all the different websites and dream of the dahlias I will have next summer. I have already ordered 10 new ones and received a bunch in a trade but I might still order some more. ;) Linda |

| I bought my first tuber (only bought nursery plants before) this winter. www.jungseed.com/dp.asp?pID=40192&c=735&p=Star+Wars+Pot+Dahlia Had to try it, since I'm in love with the smaller, dark foliage dahlias and Star Wars! |
