Seedlings Blooming Today

Here are some pics of seedlings blooming today

One i really love, the other not to much into

PS. the wind was bad so the pics are a little fuzzy!

1st is from a little grapet cross, 2.5 across 12"scape, nice foliage, but overall UGLY to me? bloom count good though no branching. Grayish-purple, with burgundy to purple eye yellow throat and pinkish mid-ribs.

2nd is a huge (to me)6.5-7 if you extend the petals out straight, copper/orange and rusty red blend, beautiful pink mid-ribs, the throat is a fiery yellow/orange and the form is good, although 1st bloom ever the flower looked very nice. 34"scapes, proliferations, slight branching (looks like it wants to, dont know if flowers will make it to bloom) very nice looking foliage.

Are these your crosses or from seeds/seedlings sent to you.

The first seedling would be a great start on mini spufs if you are so inclined. Nice second pic - it looks like it has plenty of buds.

It was windy here today too - steady 20 mph with gusts to 35-40 mph. My scalp is sore from my hair being whipped around my head!

I'm will you on the first one...don't care for it. The second bloom has nice coloring. Must be nice to see some DLs blooming! Been pretty windy here as well the past couple days. It got to 80 today so the wind was good!

They are both my own crosses, i only purchased seed once before, last year, when i bought a lot of seeds from P.J.Owen on the LA. They are the majority of TETs i have in the garden, which are fixin to bloom for the first time!

The rest youll be seeing unless otherwise noted are my own. Most of the ones to bloom this season though are two year bloomers, which means that most will be unlabled no-names as i didnt keep records till last season?

UNSURE about the mini-SPUF thing, but ill keep it around a little longer, as i want to see if color will improve, or if the form will change any as blooming progresses. Other than that if nothing happens its a goner, uless you want it brooke?

Sorry Gerard, I don't do dip spufs nor do I have an interest in mini spufs. My plate is too full already and I need to stay focused or attempt to stay focused.

Gerard - thanks for sharing your photos! It was grand fun to me to be able to see them! I actually like your first little mini-spuf. I have one such flower, only it is pumpkin orange & purple, that I got as unknown in a trade 3 years ago and find it adorable. A Spacecoast it is not, but i can't be the only one to find great charm in it!
And i want to thank you for your help in trying to ID my "unknown raspberry". I found out that it is a Wild '83 cultivar, a Dor Dip named 'Mulberry Marvel'. I am beginning to suspect that Wild is an "unsung hero" - I love some of his flowers as much as any Smith or Petit! lol ~ marea
