I have an Olympus C-765 UltraZoom digital camera. It takes great close ups. I have had several Olympus digital cameras and have been pleased with them all. Depending on your budget you can probably find several that take good close ups. If I had the money I would get the Canon Digital SLR. You might have better luck with answers on the regular forum or a forum that is for photography! good luck! There are tons to choose from!!
P.S. this is a closeup picture taken of cicada bugs we caught last summer. This picture has been downsized tremendously and the details are still pretty clear. This was taken with the above camera. I can show you dayliliy close ups if you want to just email me! Have fun.
