Laurel and Loraine Sunshine

I saw on the discussion side you have heliopsis Loraine Sunshine. Would you send me some seeds from it this fall. I had three for several years and it came up way too early this hot spring, got killed back by the Easter winter and never reappeared. I didn't save any seeds last year because it has been reliable - ha - now I need some again.

Hi Brooke, I'd be happy to share some seed with you. I'm going to try to start some too. It will be interesting to see the variation in the plants grown from seed.

Now I have to leave myself a BIG NOTE to save seed for you - my memory lately resembles the memory of a certain barman in Bree: "Thing wanted, always buried."

They are easy from seed. You will get maybe, 25% variegated plants and you can tell immediately if it is Loraine or a green leaved heliopsis. I've never bloomed out a green one, might be an interesting experiment.

HA - if your memory is bad, mine is probably worse but I will try to remind you in September to snip a few heads.
