The purpose of a username...

...to keep yourself anonymous from the rest of the world...unless you WANT them to know who you are...

Vent: Don't you hate it when a seller at an auction site puts your REAL NAME IN YOUR FEEDBACK???!!!!

If I WANTED the world to know my real name, I would have used that as my username! Thanks a lot!!!

I've never had this happen. I hope you told the seller that you weren't pleased and why. I'm sure he/she would appreciate the feedback, so that this mistake can be avoided in the future.

I don't mind it at all. In fact, it's one of the things I like about the LA. I have nothing to hide, and sometimes it helps to know who's who in the bidding/selling game to know that there's no shill bidding going on.
Some will post your first name in feedback, but I've never EVER seen a last name posted. The world WILL NOT know who you are just by your first name.
If someone has posted your last name in your feedback, I would contact Mike about it.

Sorry you have a problem with your name being used, and if it was your full name I can understand why, but, like Tammy, I have no problem with sellers posting my first name. I mean, how many Jans are there? Lots, I'm thinking!! LOL If I were you, I'd contact the seller and ask them not to post my name in my feedback again. In fact, I think they can send a request to Mike to have the feedback removed.

RE: The purpose of a username...

I had honestly never thought about it as an intrusion...but then I am also the teacher that gives her parents and students her home number.. so I obviously choose to see the world as a nice place and as of yet - I haven't had any issues. My first name is in alot of the feedback I receive and I, on occassion, have used the bidders first name in the feedback I have given. Judging by my user name here.. it is obvious I don't mind someone calling me by my name. If it becomes a stalking problem -- there is always Bear and Sable.
I don't mean to make light of your concerns...merely pointing out that I have recieved/given feedback with first names. If it is a problem for you.. I seriously doubt the seller meant it that way. A suggestion - when responding to a winning bid notice.. kindly ask the seller to refrain from that practice... easier to handle on the front end rather than having feedback removed.
