This is Fort Worth Texas Botanic Gardens they started out with the rose garden and expanded from there. They started building it in Oct of 1933. I hope you enjoy the show.

There are a few more pictures to upload but I will do it later tonight and hope to get them up.

That was such fun, Barb. Ya'll have a beautiful botanical garden in Ft. Worth. We have a very nice one in Birmingham, AL too, but I haven't been in a while. My favorite part is always the conservatory. I love to see all the exotic plants growing in there.
Thanks for sharing.

I was a very fun day and I was very glad to share with y'all. My dad has pictures of him his brother and mom and dad when he was about 11 years old at the gardens.

If I could I would travel all around and visit all the gardens in the US and then on to the rest of the world.

We have two more gardens out in a small town about 30 miles from Fort Worth, that I have yet to visit but hope to one day soon and I'll get pictures of them to share.

Here are the links to the ones I wish to visit.

Barb,
I have been to the Clark Gardens, they are almost to Mineral Wells. Back when I was active in the Ft Worth Iris Society we had the National Convention in Ft Worth in 1993. The Clark Gardens was on the bus tour. They have a nephew who hybridizes irises, Hooker Nichols, and they had mostly iris gardens then. At the time they weren't a Botanic Garden but a private residence. So I see they decided to make money on all their hard work. Looks like they have added a lot since I was there. At the time they had a pond and gazebo, numerous trails and many many annuals. They had the most beautiful black swans and ducks on the pond. We actually made a video since my daughter had a new video camera at the time.
I'm no longer active in the iris society but I still grow about 200 varieties. Now I love my lilies and as we speak I have about 50 babies growing from seeds in the spare room. My first lily seedlings will bloom this year and I'm all excited about that.
Oh and I have been to the Botanic Gardens many many times since we had our society meetings there.

Dot
