Geese In Texas

I live outside of the city enough so that every year we have geese come and go. I think some may have taken up residents at our local pond but not far away is the lake, then there is another pond across the hwy.
Every year I look forward to hearing and seeing the geese fly over head. I always have to stop what I'm doing if I hear them honking...and it never fails to put a smile on my face when I hear and see them.

They are staying year round, around here. The golf club I belonged to used to have them really bad. Having to clear the greens of the geese droppings was not fun. The other hazard was trying to stay clear of a nesting pair - that could be dangerous because they would chase you.

I guess they need a map to understand they are supposed to summer in CANADA and move south for the winter - errrr, souther than KY!
