What are your favorite places on the net to buy daylilies? Who sends the biggest fans, gives the most bang for your buck?

I actually ordered quite a bit off the 'net' last year. Kinda went crazy, I ordered from Ladybug Daylilies, Daylily Manor, Marietta Gardens, Champion Daylilies, Delano's, Shaw's Sunshine Gardens, Maryotts, and Gilbert Wild's. I can tell you i was happy with all. Delano had the best roots by far!!! The best bonus plants were from Maryott, the fastest growers (vigor) whatever you want to call it was certainly Maryott and Daylily Manor, every single one I had ordered from those two grew like crazy and most bloomed!!! I had the smallest plants from Wild, ( which reminds me I haven't seen a catalog from them yet) the plants were small, but super cheap, they did grow like crazy and most ended up blooming!!! Shaw's had great communication, I ordered very late in the season from them cause they were doing a buy one get two free!!!! (thanks lalaland) Plants were huge!!! of course planted late (October) so we shall see!! I mulched them in heavily. Champion had free shipping last year, don't know about this year. I have only ordered this year from Marietta and Maryott, cause I was looking for specific daylilies. Also have discovered the auction and have many coming from there!!! Good luck Cindy

Ladybug Daylilies - Dan sends great value bonus plants + extra fans. A double fan is usually 4-5 fans.
CT Daylilies - I have ordered off of Rich several times. Always generous and good quality plants.
Daredevil Daylilies - Linda is one of the nicest persons i have ordered from. Ordered several times. Sends multiple fans.
Blueridge Daylilies - Bob always sends multiple fans. Fans are large.

CANADA
Nova Scotia Daylilies - Order from Coral every year. Sends multiple fans.
Fairyscape Daylilies - Good quality plants.
Ballpoint Garden - Nice plants and good bonus.

THE WORST
Partride Hill - Sends the smallest fans in the world. Plants are heavy crown rotters.
Marietta Gardens - Plants are good, but they cant seem to get their sh** together. No one can screw up that bad every time. Mixed up the two and from address on my order. John Shooter is the rudest person i have dealt with.

I have orders with Daily Manor and Maryott.
Keep the suggestions going!I want to start avoiding the LA as some of the prices on there are MORE than alot of growers want, talking starting prices and BINS!

The best one to date for size and vigor is White Top Daily Farm that I have done. You always get more than what you paid for.

What is BINS????

I've order from WTDF (Neal) and nothing extraordinary in my opinion. I got exactly what I paid for and the plants weren't any bigger or grew faster than others I've purchased. Don't get me wrong, they are excellent to deal with and I would recommend them. I buy my plant markers from them also.

Bin is buy-it-now

juliany, must be location, mine always grow very good from him. They do not give bonses like some do but usually extra fans. Bonuses are good as long as it is something you like or do not already have.

I'm trying Maryott and Daylily Manor, both so far have been very slow in confirming orders. SO we'll see. D M is not giving bonuses this year because they dropped prices so much, I can certianly understand that. I have heard good things about both and hope I will be happy.

Maryott and Slightly Different Nursery send the biggest plants and the best bonuses in my experience. I ordered frome many others, but these two are best on my books.
Gilberth Wild is very good place to get some older varieties really cheap. They come small, but grow well.

I have to order my daylilies exclusively on line as we have no local daylily farms, so have had the opportunity to deal with several mail order daylily entities over the last ten years.

I am with Olga.... Maryotts and Slightly Different Nursery are far and above the best in terms of plant size/health, bonuses, and just downright wonderful to deal with.

A couple of others I have purchased quite a few plants from and have been happy with but don't see mentioned are Ridaught Daylily Farm, Browns Ferry Gardens, and Flynn Daylilies.

Hey, Joe. I concur with Nova Scotia Daylilies and Ballpoint Gardens. Have ordered from each for several years now and very happy. Geat plants. RedLane on PEI is good also. Canning Daylilies has a great selection and offers a lot of Single fans. Tend to be smaller plants though but very healthy. I'm trying to buy from one new place each year. This year it is Mother and Daughters in Ontario. Good prices, huge selection. Very nice people. cheers, lloyd

Hi to all, many of my daylilies have come from a nearby garden. I can recommend 2 southern gardens that I have ordered from.
Wynn's Daylily Garden in Jasper, FL. Gene Wynn is a very nice fellow to buy from. The fans are always big and healthy. They send extra sometimes and always nice bonus plants. They grow many Munsons. All their plants are very reasonably priced. I have ordered fall and spring shipments from them for 3 years with no problems at all. I am very pleased to recommend them.
Flynn's in Alabama is now Bama Daylilies. Ida Flynn is a very nice lady. I ordered from her last year and was very pleased with the healthy plants that she went me. They have many Munsons also.
Both of these gardens are listed at Charlotte's Daylily Diary.
I have had some very disappointing shipments from some sellers at the Lily Exchange. But, many great sellers there also. When tiny fans have come in shipments or complications in a transaction at the auction, I do not bid with that seller again.
This is a good topic. Your opinions have helped me decide to order from 2 gardens that I had thought to before, but was hesitate to do so.
Take care and stay warm!!

Arlene

Ditto on Bill Maryott. Always swamped with bonuses, and big plants.

Favorite on Auction is GOLDCOAST. Holley's also very generous, and California grown north of Bill so little rust worries. Almost weekly on Auction right now.
