When I bought BWW she was a nice soft yellow and for the first few years she stayed that way. Two years ago I noticed that there was a definite pink tone coming out. Last year I took a picture for my records. I was looking at some of the pictures later and noticed that BWW now had a distinct red pencil line around the eye. I checked the 3 data bases and AHS and Tinkers both show it as yellow. ATP has a picture with the pinkish tinge on it. Has anyone else noticed this change in their BWW? What could cause it? Marg

Is it the whole clump or just a fan or two?
|
So far I've only seen it on one fan. I thought it was pretty strange. I didn't think daylilies did that.

If it's only one fan-there could be a couple other things going on. You might have gotten a small fan of a second daylily that was beside it at the sellers location that matured enough to bloom. You might also have a self planted seedling. Soil and weather conditions can slightly alter color from year to year-but I don't have that flower so I don't know if it ever has a red pencil line.
