Who is Snowed In???

Well, I certainly got it..but at least I have power, and not quite what others may have gotten. Yikes, now spring just seems so far away, but the sun is out now and the birds are singing. I'm in northeast ohio, about hour away from Pa border, couple hours south of Cleveland.
My poor azalea and weigala needed to be rescued from the heavy snow, but I gave up trying to 'free' my car from the garage.

Not us and we usually have at least several inches on the ground this time of year. Again, very odd as we have ZERO snowfall on the ground. Lake effect today but won't amount to much.
LOL, love the look on kitty's face.
Our son lives just outside of DC in Virginia and he sent pics this morning. His pics look alot like yours....deep snow.
I guess Upstate NY might be the new Florida ;-)

No pics but we have at least 2 1/2 feet and it is supposed to drift some overnight here in central MD. The county did send a front end loader to clear our road. So Tommorrow is the big dig out of the driveway. I can barely find my car! only the tail lights and drivers side mirror are showing. One of our neigbors who used to use his farm tractor to dig everyone out passed away this summer so everyone on our road is really feeling his loss. He was such a nice older gentleman too.

My kitties are all glad they're inside. No one is begging to go out today. They are really enjoying watching the birds at the feeders though.

RE: Who is Snowed In???

Snowed in? No. Nearly plowed in, yes. Nasty, wet muck of a snow here, actual inches would be best left to the meteorologists. Should be good for my business in the spring but I always hate storm damage. This one coupled with last month's snow and bitter cold all but assures some unwanted losses. I can't complain, I've got food, heat, electricity and navigible roads (I'm sure some of my neighbors aren't so lucky).

Best of luck to all affected!

RE: Who is Snowed In???

My husband shoveled 3 drive-ways yesterday - got to get the parents to church today! Yes - kept checking to see if he was breathing last night.....My story from yesterday was when I called my 85 year old mother to see if she had been shoveled out yet (sometimes the good neighbors beat us to it) she said that she was sure that she could get out - no problem! She had backed her car into the garage Friday and was sure if she hit the gas the car would go right out. Mind you we got the 22 inches that psych got! I had her go to the window where my husband was shoveling - when she saw that it was over his knees she said that maybe she would have had a little trouble!!!!! My husband doesn't have to look far to see where I get my determination and sometimes craziness!

Here in southern Indiana we got a couple of inches of snow yesterday. But today, that WIND is awful. Blowing and drifting snow and vehicles are really having a tough time staying on the road. I saw a couple off the road on my way to work this morning.

This kind of stuff makes me appreciate those nice days ahead. It won't be too long now:)

It's snowing again! Been snowing since about 2:30 yesterday. I've lost my car again! The birds are hungry and were out of birdfood I feel bad for them. Once it stops we'll throw out some stale bread and crackers so they have something, and some peanuts for the squirrels.

I guess we won't be the new Florida here in Upstate NY ;-(.
Snow started 6:30pm yesterday evening and still snowing. Mostly see that fine stuff and not big flakes so maybe we will only have 4 to 5 inches. The dls beds are once again covered but the markers are still visible.

Can't complain as some have it much worse than us. Don't shovel too much and stay safe while traveling on the roads. That is, if you can make it to the road.

We just got called off of school again! We weren't scheduled for Friday and next Monday so I won't have to go back until Tuesday!

RE: Who is Snowed In???

Well, second round!!! I do hope everyone is OK and Olga still has power!! I'm with daylily dreamer, same situation, two snow days and Friday/ Monday were already scheduled off. When I got the call, I yelled YAHOO, so loud my cat Scaggs jumped off the bed and ran off!!! But on the other hand this could be quite expensive, cause I will have to look at daylilies on line and I will hang out at the auction!! Hey, nice to see Jean again. Hope you make it to the 'other' place. I'll be there looking for the garden scoop?? Ya'all know what I mean, I hope!!!
Have a great day and stay warm and safe. Cindy

Yeah, snowed in here too. Today is bright and sunny , bit windy. I dread the thought of going out and digging out. My back hurts already.
