| Here are some of my favorite daylilies I was able to get from last summer.. Malaysian marketplace was gorgeous and I got a lot of blooms off of it, for being a new plant.. and same for Marietta Polkadot. it was my favorite and just kept blooming and blooming and blooming. All Things Regal was such fantastic color. Can't wait to see what these all do this year. Sunshine All day looked even prettier in "real life".. I was truly happy with these! Sorry for the massive pics.. Just learning and I'll make a bit smaller next time
SUNSHINE ALL DAY
ALL THINGS REGAL
MARIETTA POLKADOT

| Sunsine All Day WAS great and I think it was slightly fragrant, also.. It's funny, because I always wonder, when looking at pics, how true the colors are, especially when they have such a saturated look or edge with a few hues in them.. so I was so excited when they bloomed and they were just as fantastic, if not more so in real life. Malaysian Marketplace is more deeply red than the pic shows, I think I might have taken it in a lot of sun.. |

| Ooooooooh, Sue! Those ARE pretty.. I like the coreopsis behind Siloam David Kirchoff.. I'm trying to get better about combining daylilies with other plants (most of my daylilies are in containers as I live in the city).. so this year I'm doing a lot of heucheras to give color when the daylilies aren't in bloom and got some textured grasses as well as gloriosa lily bulbs and some things that can twine around. |

| crackintheconcrete...which heucheras do you use with the daylilys. I know some are more sun tolerant that others and I have a few but some get a bit ...crispy. |

| ey, Sue.. sorry.. my wireless is extremely sporadic so it takes me a while to answer. Truthfully, I haven't used heucheras IN a pot with daylilies yet.. It's going to be my new experiment for this year so that I wasn't spending so much money on annuals that I have to replace every year. (I usually mix coleus with things that aren't in constant bloom) was planning on using some of the newer hybrids that are supposed to be more sun-tolerant.. so this year I was going to use Lime Rickey, Peach Flambe, and Heucherella "Alabama Sunrise".. I'll have to check and see if they get crispy..I was also going to add Galtonia and crocosmia to get a more vertical effect and thought I could tuck the smaller bulbs in there. |

| Lime Rickey never did well in full sun for me, but part shade to full shade - awesome. Some that I had in full sun were Caramel, Chocolate Ruffles, Blackout, Black Beauty, Creme de Menthe - handles summer heat and humidity - a favourite, Hollywood - blooms all summer, Licorice - if kept moist, Midnight Rose, Peach Flambe - had 2 separate clumps, both in full sun, one did better than the other, I think difference was moisture, may be a bit tender in zone 4/5, and Obsidian - nice. I grow quite a few in pots. Mike. |

cracking Can I come and raid your garden? Love them all! Sue, you have alot of my favorites. Lovely! |

| OOH, Thanks for the tips, Mike! My garden is surrounded by huge apt. buildings, so I get a lot of shade at wierd moments because of the shadows, so most of my "full sun" is in the afternoon.. I'll have to watch where I put lime rickey, then. Sure, dreaming.. come raid my garden. Hahhaaha It's so tiny, it'd be really easy to get through it quickly.. every time I buy a new daylily, I have to think of a brilliant way to explain to my husband why I need another container of dirt.. "uh.. no.. this uh..daylily just magically appeared, and yes.. I have no idea where there is another inch for dirt, but!! *beams cheerfully* I'm sure I can *cough* *cough* find a spot..somewhere* *wills husband to not look out window and see already crammed-full area* |
