Cobraskin Necktie - who grows it?

I believe this was released in 2005 but is still nearly impossible to find. There's only one listing in Eureka at $175 for a single fan. It was assigned as a club plant to one of our members who is one or two years late on returning it as 3 fans (I'm not yet sure in what condition those fans will be).

Is it hard to find because it's difficult to grow? It would help us to decide if we should put it in our spring auction or hold it for the late summer auction and what price to suggest as a fair reserve.

Thanks to anyone who can help with this. Our club is in zone 6b.

I can see why it would be desirable, it is gorgeous!! I promise not to laugh at a name ever again... maybe.

Maybe the hybridizer likes George Thorogood or Bo Diddley. The name makes me think of the song 'Who Do you Love?'

I walked 47 miles of barbed wire,
Used a cobra snake for a neck tie.
Got a brand new house on the roadside,
Made out of rattlesnake hide.
I got a brand new chimney made on top,
Made out of human skulls.
Now come on darling let's take a little walk, tell me,
Who do you love

I've seen it at Curts, and I think the problem is it doesn't increase very fast. I know he sold out and only had 1 large fan left for himself the year it was introduced. I also remember him telling me that he had to refund money because demand exceeded supply. It is a wonderful flower.

Very slow to increase . After 3 years I have only 4 fans
