Accidental Cutting of Daylilies

alienkeeper

My lawn care guy did the first cutting of my lawn today May 2. I think he accidentally cut my area of Happy Returns Daylilies which had only 6 plants but they were cut down to "ground level".They were placed last year in front of a large boulder in the lawn to add color. I am in Ct. and the daylilies were about 7-8" tall but naturally no flowering as of yet. Will they be able to regrow and flower this year? They were probably several weeks from flowering but no buds were detected. Should I fertilize to assist the the regrowing process? Thanking all of you in advance.
