Many,many fertility problems, if I knew how to post links I could point you to articles in the journal and elsewhere--Cascade Bulb company I think,also pollen life and pollen tube problems some are just impossible. Even Saxton, years ago told me I could not use wild ditch lily (but I did) and diploid and tetraploid will not cross (usually) and old Ed Murray will cohabit with both dips and tets (sometimes) and some are pollen fertile and some are pod fertile. Nocturnals may pollinate with the moths at night (pollinate with a flash light) this morning I dabbed a nocturnal with a day bloomer ! I have seedlings from 2000 which I have never found their own true love and never raised a seedling and I am furious as they are early as the species andvery tough plants! Early eve for nocturnals, morning for day bloomers. I don't know your climate but heat and humidity may kill pollen. Dips with dips, tets with tets, forget triploids unless you have patience of Job--- I used wild pollen and got seeds--once---never again-------------------Weedy----------------another stubborn one finally met Red Rum!!

I think the failure to set seed on your lilies has little to do with technique and everything to do with climate. I cannot get good pollination when the temperatures are high 80 and 90 degrees. If you have lilies blooming in pots, you might try moving them in a cooler shady spot and introduce the pollen in the (relative) cool of the morning .Sorry I don't have a better solution, but 110 + degree temps is just too hot. Other members may have better ideas.

Do they use shade cloth in Florida? And try as soon as the anthers open? Some of the Southern hybridizers might have ideas-----------------------------------------Weedy
