Even here in southern Ohio, it is a very slow multiplier.

We just planted it last year. It's not in a clump, but was planted as four fans all strung out. Looks like it's doing fine, and has several scapes, but haven't had it long enough to know how quickly it sends up new fans. We're in Terre Haute, Indiana, zone 6. We hit 15 below twice last winter, but that's unusual for us. We did have lots of snow cover and that seems to have helped everything survive the winter.

I live in 5a and it does ok here. It hasn't winter killed so that's a good thing. I noticed today it is about a quarter size to Jamie Gossard's Heavenly Orange Blaze. I think? they were planted the same year. 2008, if not then only a year after.

I've had a couple of smallish fans planted for at least two years now, and I think one died and the other is barely alive. I guess I will keep it another year and see if it "grows" over the summer for me. I'm in the equivalent of USDA z.4 (5?). Anyway, I'm definitely not impressed with this one.
