Blooming Ramping Up

It is a beautiful morning in New England for working in the gardens after many days of rain. I did not expect to see any blooms quite yet...so today's garden walk held many pleasant surprises - six different daylilies blooming.

I was most excited to see Incendiary blooming - a free gift last year. I absolutely love the color and size of this flower.

Another present surprise that was also a free gift - Bluebird Sky. The flower is at least 9 inches across.

Daylily Arial originated in New England and is a small 2.5 inch flower on very tall flower scapes (check out the birdbath for perspective). It blooms profusely and I love the purple color of the buds. It also rebloomed last summer which we typically do not experience much in the North.

Siloam Double Classic

Volusian Pirate - this was another free gift. I was not a fan of reds, but they are growing on my. However, reds with an undertone of orange - not so much. One of my friends is getting a free gift. Does that sound too harsh?

And my new Kansas Kitten has another double bloom!

Very nice blooms! My favorite is Bluebird Sky with its beautiful lavender color and applique throat. I would love to get that as a bonus, and Incendiary too for that matter. It looks so pretty with that hosta inthe background. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your blooms!

Really like the first two flowers, and also think the small flowered yellow is so pretty the way you have it in your flower bed. Be glad it blooms above the foliage like that so it can easily be seen. Thanks for the pictures, and keep them coming. Avedon

We all have our favorite, so no, it isn't too harsh. I love brights, and garish even and rarely met a red I didn't like. Yellow is probably the last color I look for when shopping, but have several I really like. I like both of your first two bonuses. They are both quite lovely, and a tie for favorite, but all your blooms are very pretty. And wasn't that a lovely surprise?

Lots of pretty blooms today.nice surprise, huh. love DOUBLE CLASSIC.ITs a good bloomer. love that yellow one too,and I'm not a big fan of yellows.my avorite is KANSAS KITTEN.

Incendiary is my pick for favorite, I love the looks of it. And it is a big flower? Right up my alley :) I have to say, I'm not fond of small flowers-I like them big & flashy-but if they are small, I like them on tall stems like your Arial. I have both My Melinda & Bahama Butterscotch, older daylilies with smallish flowers on tall stems. They are real workhorses though, lots of blooms on the scapes & seems like they bloom all season.

Lovely pics. I have Incendiary and it doesn't do well here in bloom openings so far. It increases fine though. I also have Bluebird Sky. I love the bloom color on that one and mine is also blooming now.
