There was a container of some old daylily seeds in the fridge crisper that I was going to toss as they were from the 2009 growing season. For the heck of it I decided to find out if any of them were still viable. So for the past few weeks I started them using my usual method. Most of them showed no signs of life, which didn't surprise me. What did surprise me was that I got almost 100% germination and growth from crosses with Alan Lane Agin, Heartbeat of Heaven, and Bound For Glory. Four days ago I started more seeds from those same pod parents, and again got nearly 100% germination. I guess that some daylilies are able to pass on longer seed viability. I've been really surprised by this
