I have vinca (periwinkle) growing in the shade and the daylilies bloom very poorly there---if there were more sun it might work, but them the vinca mght\ not grow as well. I think many groundcovers might compete with daylilies-I have ajuga in some areas that still seems to compete with the daylilies.---------------------------------------------Weedy

I have a few areas where this is happening, and so far it's worked out ok. I didn't plan it that way, but the vinca has moved into the sun to snuggle up to existing daylilies. I pulled the vinca roots from around the daylilies so they don't smother any new fans, but it's too soon to tell if they'll co-exist.
