Wednesday Showers

Showers today. Just enough to mar blooms and wash off some deer repellant (on those not fenced in). Not enough to soak in well. But I took a few pics anyway and am waiting for the showers to pass.

In My Pink High Heels is looking great this year. Not till you see Davisson's cultivars in a clump do you realize how carefully she breeds for good scape. This one has blooms perfectly spaced; they elegantly float above the garden.

Safe Island is doing well.

Charming Charlie's garb may be too loud for my tastes.

Web of Intrigue is such a vigorous grower and quite attractive.

Ethel Buccola is very reliable here.

Charming Charlie is right up my alley and I can't wait for mine to bloom. I don't know that I've ever seen a daylily that's too loud for my tastes, but there are a few yellow ones with purple/brown eyes that have the same effect for me.

Pure and Simple and Frankie's Fantasy are nice, clean colors.

The Pure and Simple clump is simply wonderful! I love that glow it has. (Perhaps we need to work out a trade for that one.) Ethel Buccola and Carefree Sunset have that perfect round form that is so pleasing., I'm glad to hear Carefree Sunset is doing well for you. I was glad mine made it through the winter in a pot. I lost my other two favorite coral pinks: Flamingo Parade and Once Upon A Dream.

ALL are so pretty, pink high heels is a very nice one and carefree sunset, too,but, my favorite of the bunch is FRANKIE'S FANTASY.Thats a beauty.

Thanks for the reminder about deer repellent being washed off by today's brief but heavy showers. Your nudge prompted me to replenish mine.

Web of Intrigue is lovely indeed, but I don't see very many buds on the scapes in the picture. Is it a short show?

I like Charmin Charlie. since I like bright colors, it's probably my favorite, but In My Pink High Heels is a really nice clump. Ethel Buccola is quite nice too. You have a very nice group blooming. Rain has been "spitting" around here quite often....usually just enough to mess up blooms.

Statmam: There are about 8-10 per scape, which for here is not bad.
