You are right, Kay, for lovers of spiders, that is a beautiful daylily. Yes, I read her blog, and the pictures really are wonderful to see. I think my next favorite one-spider type--is Jim Murphy's Out Of Sane. I don't know if these are called hard dormants, I have no idea just what that means in terms of temperatures. We grow a number of dormants here and they all do well, we have never had a dormant disappear like some people say they do in warmer climates. Avedon

The only one I've had disappear is Margo Reed Indeed, and that could have been voles. Out of Sane is a pretty one, and I love the (Not a spider) Rumble in the Jungle.

Well, you have given me pause, for I just got Margo Reed Indeed, and it should be blooming in a week. and since it is an semi-evergreen, I was thinking there wouldn't be a problem about dormancy. We don't have voles, but we have moles, and they can cause trouble by tunneling under the roots. We have to keep a sharp eye out and if a daylily looks like it isn't doing well, we always check for mole tunnels first. We have saved a number of our DLS by doing that. Just got Snake In The Grass Boo and at one point, it looked poorly--we checked and sure enough, there was a big mole hole running around it. The hole is filled and SITGB is looking good now. Avedon

If you don't have voles, be exceedingly thankful, Avedon. They
EAT the plant roots, don't tunnel under them. MRI did fine for a couple of years, then disappeared.
