What does it look like? I have some odd-looking blooms that look like a tulip with claw-shaped leaves. It isn't on every scape - probably just one.

Nancy, the buds look rounded and puffy mostly, not like the normal enlogated bud, and the bloom distorted.
If you want a better look, you can google daylily gall midge and find some images. I don't know what part of the country you are in. So far, I know it has hit British Columbia and Washington, and I'm not sure about Oregon. I'm curious about other parts of the country. It is known in England, and our climate is similar.

Well, at least the article I read said it was a one generation problem if you picked the buds and carefully flushed sealed etc them up. rust is a "gift" that goes on giving.

I've had them for two years now. I am trying to be more diligent about picking them off this year and I hope it will not return.
