Daylily seed- Confused!!!

Hi,
I've read too much conflicting information. I am in Mobile, AL. I've harvested seeds from my day lilies in the past few days. Most are shiny black and plump. Can I go ahead and plant them inside? I bought a seed starting tray. I put them in the refrigerator on a wet paper towel for now until I figure out what to do. I need simple step by step directions for my zone. thanks!!

I would dry them in a paper cup for a day or two to reduce the chance of mold. Then plant them in your seed starting tray. Most of the directions you're finding are for starting seeds that have been bought or stored in the refrigerator since havest.

thank you :) I bought some miracle gro seed starting mix today and planted the 10 I had soaking. One was mushy and one had mold (I threw those away). I also planted 8 that I just harvested from seed pods. I will let others I harvested today dry for a day or two like you suggested, and then I will plant those. Hopefully something will grow! I placed the tray with the lid on top in front of a window with the shades closed (indirect light). Is that a good spot?
