Can a daylily lose its edge?

Or not have it at all if grown under certain conditions is what I mean to say. Reason I ask is that I have a far from perfect spreadsheet listing of my daylilies and the only one that's close to the picture below is El Desperado, but without the edge. I live in Olympia, Wa. The average temperature this month has been in the low 60s with highs in the 70s. I'm wondering if our moderate climate can have this effect on edged varieties? Thanks for any input, David

That doesn't look like El Desperado to me. The color is off, and its edge shouldn't disappear. The fancy gold edges may not show up in Northern climates, but picotee edges don't "disappear."

I'm in Canada and my El Desperado had never lost its edge. I've had it for 4 years now. I do agree with Debra, the color is off. Here's mine.
