I'm wondering why some of my daylily sdlgs are opening in the evening as shown below. This was taken at 8pm.....is this what they call a nocturnal opener?
I would guess you may be right about your seedlings being nocturnal. I really like your last two seedlings. The last one really has nice coloring. Linda
Thanks Marg and Linda. It is interesting that when I checked the parents of the second bud opening, which is the same as the SC-SSU (strawberry candy x spiny sea urchin) seedling, neither parent is nocturnal.....I will have to look into this further when time permits.
Here is another sibling to SC cross, which is bigger and darker, but doesn't have the nocturnal habit. Flora
