Bella Sera vs bunnies

We almost lost Bella Sera last winter. She was dug up and replanted in a different location so I could keep a better watch on her. I was thrilled when she sent up one nice scape. I got two good blooms from her. This morning I went out and a rabbit had cut off the only scape. I have lots of daylilies so why this one? At least we are keeping the deer away with Milorganite.

Very sorry to hear this; it's such a disappointment, and next bloom season seems so far away. I wish it were possible to breed a beautiful daylily with a bitter taste.

I'm surprised a rabbit got to it. We have an abundance this year of rabbits but they don't seem to eat any of the scapes..at least so far. So sad that happened to you. Try Cayenne pepper.

Sorry :( And only one scape! Happened to me before.
I am not quite sure rabbits do it. Yesterday I found 2 scapes broken, one had buds laying a few feet away, couldn't found buds from the other. Thankfully they both have many scapes.
Those rabbits destroyed our arbovitae (sp?) this winter :(
