Any experiences with this one? Particularly in the North.

Brent Ross says this one grows well for him.

Sorry to interrupt, but Mantis I asked you a question about a couple of your daylililes you posted awhile back and I think you missed the question. Can you tell me what you like - dislike about Ashwood Dark Side versus Ruby Grandeur. I need to get one or the other and know from your post that you grow both...........Maryl

Maryl, they are both excellent cultivars. Ruby Grandeur is a velvety red. I think, though, that Ashwood Dark Side might appeal to you more, as there are so many good reds. AD is very dark and reasonably sunfast. Both grow well.

Thanks Mantis. I've avoided most reds all these years because most of them just appear dead red to me. But I got a nice bright one (Dale Hensley hybridizer) as a bonus this year. After seeing it in bloom I thought "humm" maybe I need another bright red to liven things up a bit. I also really liked Ashwood Dark Side...So, I'm sorry about interrupting your post, but really wanted your input on these two in particular since I will be ordering from Norris next spring.......Thank you again.....Maryl
