problem

I have a problem with a section of one of my DL beds. I dug up a plant to give to a friend last month. The bloom was growing short but I thought If planted somewhere else it would probably be fine next year. Just under the bark around it, there was a lot of white stuff, (prob. some kind of fungus). Yesterday I scratched around another daylily that was looking sickly, across from that first one and there was a lot of white stuff under the bark on that one. We have Had a LOT of rain all the month of June and daily thru July.
Tell me. What should I do? Is there something I should use to get rid of the white stuff or should I re-dig that whole area? Is there a product I can buy? Thanks. Sarah
