Moses' Fire - double percentages?

I got Moses' Fire in a trade with a friend today and her large clump was blooming pretty good, but only a few of the blooms were doubles. I noticed on the AHS site description that Moses' Fire doubles 95% of the time.

Would a clump that is too crowded cause it to not double as much? Or can soil affect how much it would double? What other possibilities could cause it to not double as it should?

I wish I had taken a picture of it, but didn't think of it at the time.

Thanks for any advise or thoughts on the subject.

The one clump of Moses' Fire that I have consistently doubles 100% of time. Generally, the hotter the weather, the more consistent is the doubling. Double Cranberry Ruffles did not double much this year, and I suspect it needs to be divided. It was gorgeous last year.

Thanks, Nancy. I am beginning to wonder if what I got really is Moses' Fire. I should be getting a new bloom soon and will take a picture.

I have Moses Fire and it always doubles for me. Next to it is Siloam Classic Dbl. The first day's blooms didn't double but it started doubling a little later and was beautiful as long as it bloomed.
