Baby Tiger Paws

I'm trying to ID a Daylily in our front yard that was planted a few years ago during a major re-landscaping project. The landscaper purchased all the plants at a large local nursery and I never saw the plant tag. It is yellow with a maroon eyezone.

Anyway, a search at Oakes Daylilies turned up one that looks exactly like ours and it is Baby Tiger Paws. On ours, the blooms are only 2" but otherwise the description is the same (however, ours are still blooming!).

Is this a common one, and is there another one that looks just like it with "creamy yellow blooms with a brownish maroon eyezone"?

I would like to divide it this fall and plant some of the divisions in the backyard in front of a climbing rose.

I just noticed that Oakes classifies it as dormant. Ours do not go dormant; they stay green and full all winter in a somewhat sheltered spot facing southwest with the house behind them.

Does dormant always mean they completely disappear during winter (as 'Happy Returns' does in our garden)?

Some daylilies are photo dormant and others are temperature dormant. Photo dormant will go dormant when the days get shorter. Temperature dormant need to go below a cretain temperature to go dormant. I doubt that would happen in SoCal. On the flipside, Pandora's Box is an evergreen that goes dormant every year in my garden.

Thank you, Edward. Our 'Happy Returns' disappears completely every winter. Not knowing what "certain temperature" is required to go temperature-dormant, they could be either type. Baby Tiger Paws may be temperature dormant since they remain evergreen all winter here in their somewhat sheltered spot.
