Top 5 Favourite Seedlings of 2012

These are all blooming for the first time this year and maybe next year some of them will be dogs and some of them will be even better. Only time will tell.

1. Belle of Ashwood x Belle Cook #5 - This little darling sent up 3 scapes on a 16 month old seedling. The colour was great and the blooms opened well.

2. Belle of Ashwood X Perfect Pink Porcelain #7 - Two pinks made a yellow, but what a yellow. It is big tall and beautiful.

3. Elusive Happiness X Belle of Ashwood - The well branched beauty is open to greet the morning at 7:00am.

4. Belle of Ashwood X Belle Cook #1 - This Annette's Magic look alike is bigger, taller and very fragrant.

5. Belle of Ashwood X Belle Cook #10 - This one is a paler and smaller version of Belle of Ashwood. It is also much more fragrant.

Very nice, and all of them from 'Belle of Ashwood'? I've made a very few crosses from that (plant is only in its second season here and suffering from drought so few blooms), so I won't see the first seedlings bloom until next summer (if then). Your good results give me hope!

I like 1, 2, and 5 - but I am especially drawn to #2. I see yellow, pink/coral, and maybe some cream in there, so I think that it is at least a blend (if not a polychrome), rather than a plain yellow. The dark anthers really set it off, too. And big and tall? I'd be proud and happy to have a seedling like that.

It looks like Belle of Ashwood has been a very good parent for you. My favorites are #3 and #5.

They are all so nice, I think I like #3 best, but they are definitely keepers, so pretty.

I am very pleased with my seedlings this year. I also have one that is up to 8 fans and another sending up a rebloom scape. Unfortunately I have no idea what they look like. At least I will get to see the rebloomer again in a couple of weeks.
