Just my opinion, Judith... you might try increasing the strength of your fertilizer solution in increments, and only on a few to see if it makes a difference before you do them all. I'd be afraid to move them just yet. Our weather should start cooling off toward end of September. Last fall, we moved our seedlings from cups to the daylily beds in either late September or early October after the temperatures were down in the 80's. They were planted over a period of two weeks, and those planted first showed better growth!

Since I don't grow daylilies in flats, I'm not really up on how to fertilize or grow them that way. I keep my seedlings in the cups until we are ready to transplant them. Do yours have enough room (height) for root growth in flats? The 16-oz cups I use give them plenty of room to develop a good root system.

As for sun, I gradually move my young seedlings (still in cups) from shade to full sun over a few weeks period. Maybe they aren't getting enough sun? You could try that approach, too.

Photobucket was having problems.....finally got a photo to post. Here are my seedlings that were potted up in July. Do they look appropriate for this stage of growth or do I need to repot, more fertilizer or ??? Thanks for any advice! Its much easier to see a photo than to try to describe.....

Photobucket is so unpredictable! I've found I now have really good luck by logging in with Facebook. I don't have to type a password or anything and it takes me right to my page.
