How neat! Bill hybridized iris before he got into daylilies. That's a nice honor for a super person.

That's such a pretty iris! The picture of the iris was not on his website when I looked, but he still had the information up about him winning the award

He does have a picture of the iris back on his website today 8/13!

I saw this mentioned elsewhere, and just checked his website... yep, the picture is still there. (1:16 am on 8-14)

Bill's a great guy! I'm glad that he received the honor.

I'm sure He told me he was through with Irises. He must have some leftovers since it's been years since he had an Iris farm.. Congratulations Bill!!!!!

It's the last one he ever introduced, as you said, years ago. I think it takes a good 10 years or so to be up for the Dykes Medal, just like the Stout in daylilies.
