Name After a Bird

Here's what's blooming in my garden the week of 8/5. Someone mentioned to me that Lambertson has a series of daylilies named after birds. I have not had an opportunity to verify this. However he did name this one after a bird and it is a beauty.

Violet Sabrewing - a new one that came with one last bloom.

Voila Francois - Another new beauty. I'm always a little worried about the daylilies with ruffled edges performing well this far north in zone 6. However I purchased this from Harmon Hill in New Hampshire and they are a full zone behind me and said it performs well. The bloom here is from their garden.

Walkway Garden with Kisho Kahn Agave (blue pot). I purchase this plant with 1.5 inch spikes at a Hosta Convention auction in Minnesota and traveled with it on a plane - not an easy task.

Look Into My Eyes

Javier has not made it out of a pot. I like what I am seeing in the FFO.

Real Wind

Orchid Corsage has not looked great two years in a row. The flowers have been shorter and smaller than usual - time to divide the clump.

Safron Glow

Ruby Lipstick - every single flower, regardless of the weather, has been in perfect form!

Dawn's Echo

Dripping in Gold

Claudine's Charm

Victoria Grace
